Part of what makes Raleigh's Market Hall wedding venue such a strong choice for portraits is everything within walking distance — including Moore Square, just around the corner. For Meg and Brian's wedding, we headed over to the square to get some portraits with Raleigh's downtown skyline rising behind them.
It didn't take long to realize the heat had other plans. Between the sun and the pavement, Moore Square turned into more of a quick stop than a full session, so we moved back to Market Hall's ceremony area instead and finished the portraits there. It's a good reminder of something true about every outdoor location near the venue: it's a great option to have, but it's still worth being flexible on the day, since weather doesn't check the timeline.
Meg and Brian ended up with a gallery that mixes the energy of downtown Raleigh with the quieter, more intimate feel of the ceremony space itself — which, in the end, gave them more variety than sticking to one plan would have.
