Natalie & Chris's Wedding Photos at Melrose Knitting Mill

Natalie and Chris got married at Melrose Knitting Mill in Raleigh, and this is still one of my favorite galleries to look back through.

What I loved most about shooting their day here was the natural light — it pours in through the mill's windows in a way that makes getting good photos almost effortless, which is a photographer's dream on a wedding day with a tight timeline.

Natalie and Chris live in Greensboro, so we planned almost their entire wedding by phone. I met Natalie and her mom in person for the first time at her bridal portrait session, and I knew right away we were a good fit — she trusted me with the day and let me do my job, which makes for the kind of relaxed, natural photos I'm always chasing.

Fresh Affairs handled the florals, and their work throughout the ceremony and reception space added exactly the right amount of color against Melrose's brick and windows without competing with the light. Jim Walker officiated, Parlor Blow Dry Bar did hair and makeup, and Happy Cakes handled the cake — all details that came together into a day that felt effortless from behind the camera, even with most of the planning happening over the phone.
