Jonah had already told me exactly what he wanted from the engagement session — moody, dramatic, underneath the string lights at Pinehill. So I knew going into this Pinehill Pavilion wedding in Youngsville, NC that he had a very clear vision for how he wanted his day to look and feel. What I didn’t expect was the bubble entrance. Instead of a sparkler exit at the end of the night, Jonah and Brett walked into their cocktail hour through a tunnel of bubbles that their guests were blowing from both sides. It was completely them — joyful, a little unexpected, and impossible not to smile at. The getting-ready experience at Pinehill starts in the cottages on the property, and they are genuinely one of the reasons I recommend this venue to couples without hesitation. The natural light in those spaces is the kind that makes getting-ready photos look effortless. Jonah had a clear sense of how he wanted the day to feel from the very beginning — there’s a calm intentionality to the way he approaches things that came through in even the quietest moments of the morning.
The First Look: Pinehill’s Wooded Pathways
Jonah and Brett chose to do a first look before the ceremony, which I always love at Pinehill because the wooded pathways and driveway give you such a naturally cinematic setting for it. Jonah’s comfort in front of a camera, established during the engagement session, made the portrait portion of the day move easily. Brett matched his energy completely.
