My favorite moment of the whole day almost didn't get photographed. Guests were downstairs at cocktail hour, and Treanna and Donte had slipped off to grab a quick snack before the formal reception started — and then just started dancing together, unprompted, right there. No DJ, no announcement, just the two of them. I always tell couples the best moments are usually the ones nobody planned, and this was exactly that: a real, unscripted first dance before their actual first dance. That's part of why I love shooting at Melrose in the fall specifically — the light through those windows in October has a warmth to it that summer light doesn't, and it made the whole reception feel golden without any extra work on my end.
